Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane transporting the US defense secretary was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the jet's front window, per an official statement which verified that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft touched down in accordance with established safety measures and all passengers, including Pete Hegseth, is safe," an official representative commented in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This occurrence does not mark the first time that a US military aircraft carrying a top government figure has encountered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet carrying the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was forced to return to Washington after experiencing a mechanical fault.
