Barcelona Set to Play First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match facing Eintracht next month at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
