Clair Obscur Dominates at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded this past week, and through an impressive show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the most decorated winner. The breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the prestigious Top Game award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Adding to the studio's success, the skilled performers also received personal awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Best Development Team. Overall, Clair Obscur and its makers achieved 7 awards throughout the ceremony.
Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Top Sound Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Top Self-Published Indie and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the gamers, with only 4 awards—Critics Choice, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—decided by experts.
